The baseball trading deadline is one of my favorite times in the sports year, right up there with March Madness. So when I found out the biggest deals involved...Matt Lawton and Kyle Farnsworth, let's just say I was underwhelmed. But it seems like many things are underwhelming me lately: my writing, nobody answering his or her phone, even coaching has lost a bit of its luster. What does this mean? Am I getting old and jaded?

Also, the ridiculous talk about trading Manny Ramirez just because the Boston writers don't like him or some shit. He was series MVP, in the one series they've been waiting for since what, 1916? Jesus. Doesn't anyone care about loyalty anymore? So he pees behind the Green Monster? Like Eric Ossilius said on ESPN Radio, for me, that might make the deciding vote to send a guy to the hall. "He peed behind the wall? That's funny...he's in!"

My great aunt told me today that I remind her of this televangelist she watches on television every Sunday. This makes me vaguely sick.
